Glove manufacturers utilize a huge variety of lacing patterns, which means that I generally have to
provide an estimate that is specific to the make and model of glove to be repaired, as well as the
particular laces which need to be replaced. However, in order to provide a feel for the cost of a repair,
the table below shows the price for replacing individual laces in a typical fielders glove with a
one-piece basket-type web which has a separate double-pass finger lace and a double-pass spiraled webtop lace:
Recently, it has become fashionable to have entire gloves relaced with colored laces in order to
customize it to the preferences of its owner. I offer a substantial discount to people wanting to
completely relace their glove. In the case of the typical fielders glove in the table above, the total
relacing price would be $78.00. In addition, when I do a complete relace job, I also include the
application of a leather conditioner at no additional charge.
I can do a single lace or a whole glove, but I seldom get a glove where all the the laces have failed.
When that happens, it is usually due to unusual circumstances such as leaving the glove within reach of
the family pet or leaving it out in the elements over the winter. The laces which are most subject to
stress are those connecting the fingers and the laces associated with the web. Therefore, these are
the laces which generally fail and most often need to be replaced.
Following completion of the job, I ship the glove back to any location in the continental United States
via Priority Mail (2-3 days) for a charge of $10-16.00 per glove, depending on your location. I will quote
the shipping charge when I provide an estimate. Rush shipping is available at an additional charge,
upon request. Those who prefer to pick up their finished glove at my location are not subject to
shipping charges.
